New Year

Ok we are almost a week into 2009, just don't ask where 2008 has gone because I just don't know. I have cricket pictures I've not yet uploaded, well thats a fib I had everything ready on the desktop computer, the the HDD decided to crash, after taking apart and fixing. I was in my local staples and saw a laptop on sale too good to turn down, so I bought and loaded with webstuff. On the night I was going to up load pictures I didn't. I should have done because the next morning my boot manager went missing so it was a complete reload. Still I will get there one day.
I don't know if many read this or I write to myself, but if anyone who used the message boards does. I think I owe you all a big appology first for shutting it without notice and secondly for not realising that people had stopped posting or were worried what they posted was up for ridicule. That was never my intention when the board was started, it was just meant to be a fun place.
But from the emails and messages I've had since I can see it wasn't.

Looking forward into the new year, I find I'm behind on a lot of things on the site, hopefully this year I'll catch up but this thing called real life keeps getting in the way.

A bit of news I have is that Dale Meeks (Remember Simon the fishman later binman? ) is bringing out his very first single around March. Some thing to look forward to I think, I've been told he was very good with Mark when they did the Blues brothers in Stars in their eyes, on bit of TV I never did see. I should go search youtube I think.....

Christmas Lights

Well it's November and the Christmas decs are up in the village, there is even a scattering of snow. This of course for filming. There is from what I've read to be a lot of comings and goings of villagers. If rumour is to be believed more than a couple of deaths. Which means I should get my finger out and start updating the site. Things in RL though have been hectic so hobbies have to go on hold.
Once again Em missed out on the NTA's makes me think that allowing online voting in it's present form isn't biased towards the younger viewers who know what an email address is and have many more than just one. Then again I could be totally wrong and everyone just voted once.
I do prefer the NTA's though as the form allows one to skip catagories that are of no interest. which for me is most of them.

Whilst I'm in a complaining mood, I have a record series thing on my freeview so of course I put Em on it. However for some reason when it's on for an hour it doesn't always get recorded.
Weird or what?

Can I sound like Annie used to now, and talk though what used to be the break in the Emmerdale seasons? Well i would if I could remember what she said. I can remember the tractor harvesting on the screen with her voice giving the goings on of the summer.
I think my goings on will be just a little different to what has been seen on screen. Mind you there have been simularities, as in visits to hospital, a person hitting his wife, the police involved with crimes. As yet though no one as far as I know has pretended to be an authur. Big business too I know nothing about here, then again I'm totally lost to what business Donald is in. When we first came across it Nicola was running it in an office with a lady helper. Since then it's needed Carl as an MD and is run from a house. confused? I am. I wonder to what happened to the helper I'm ashamed to say I can't remember her name, but her like Rosemarys housekeeper I'd have liked to have seen more of. .....

Two awards for Emmerdale this year, Best Episode for Daniels death and Mr Fee for 30 years....... I had to laugh as one of the newspapers called him a "backroom boy" I wonder if they had ever met him, I don't think boy describes him at all.
As I rarely watch other soaps I can't compare. Although I have been told EE has got better since the gangsters have gone.

This afternoon I find myself writing this during the ominibus. I never had time to watch all week, this happening more and more often recently. Although I'm pleased for the time being at least there have been just 5 half hour episodes. I hope when the football finishes it doesn't go back.

March 2008

Ok so I know when I started this writing lark I'd never be any good at it. I don't supposed anyone reads it anyways I know I don't, well apart from when I'm typing as I have to go back and fix typos. Now that is one thing I'm good at.
Anyways another FCW has come and gone, I've put some pictures on the site but for some reason I'm slower this year. I suppose it could be a lot of outside influences but there you go.
It was a good weekend better than some, it seemed more relaxed. The only reason I can think of was there wasn't a film crew trying to get footage. It wasn't just the fans that were that way but in the Evening, the cast and crew were too. Though I suppose it could be because it was held in February so not on top of Christmas and New Year.

The weather was nice too, which made for good traveling. I think I made good time on those long roads. I keep meaning to time myself on the actual driving just to see it it matches up with multi map or the AA sites. One day I'll do it.

Now I have a dilemma, I have this gigantic bottle of champagne I could drink, but it's covered in Emmerdale autographs. So do I drink and save or do I just save. Does champagne mature with time like cheese or does it go off? I think I'll ponder on it.

It's really been one of those years. I've not even finished putting the Cricket pictures up yet. Slow or what?
Tonight was another hour special. How many is that in the last few months? If Emmerdale has to be on 6 nights a week the programme schedulers could at least leave it to the regular time rather than try and win this out dated ratings war in the evening. All it does is upset viewers who watch all soaps. Now days they are repeated so many times does it really matter which one is watched at the set time? So it's not true ratings at all.
In fact it would be better for me to have Emmerdale on two nights a week for an hour but there you go viewers don't really count just the advertisers these days. Though one would have thought that the advertisers would want what the viewers want or is that too simple a thing?

The programme itself, well there's to be changes up ahead, the producer Kath Beedles is to be leaving next year and another female stepping into her shoes. What changes lie ahead? Kath seems to have bought more of the countryside into Emmerdale so I hope that continues also the small but still significant farming stories such as Jo's goats and the petting zoo. I never did work out if the zoo was supposed to be permanent or a one day feature. the latter I guess, though to make it permanent would be something as Esholt where filming was before the purpose built village has something similar for the children. Nice to to see there can be at least one happy well in fact there are two happy pairs in the village, Lisa and Zak also Ashley and Laurel the latter could be going through what many newlyweds do "in laws!!"
Now the choices for tonight, put up those pictures, go out in the rain and get milk which I need, or play in facebook then again apart form a couple of sites that need updating the ironing keeps calling me. Help!!!!

Long break

I'm a useless blogger, things keep getting in the way to me sitting here typing. I'm not even keep the site upto date as much as I would like. Though I managed to get to a couple of cricket matches this year. Was good to catch up with friends again.

The cricket was fun the first match was at Branston. I was suprised how relaxed it was. I did feel sorry for the BBQ volunteers, the fire they had was miles to small for the amount of people waiting for burgers. But they carried on in the heat having to restock every 20 minutes.

The next weekend was at Ackworth, that again was very relaxed. We only stayed for the first innings though as we went to Garforth and caught the second half of the football.
Having seen Verity and Lucy at least three times in as many days, I'm sure they must have thought we were stalkers or something. Still they shouldn't worry as we wont be there again until February. I learnt over the last weekend that the same people go and stand outside the studio weekly or even more often.

One of the places we went to was the bookies where Marlon was shot. It was a real bookies on an estate. I'd never find it again as I wasn't driving.
I just hope the next oen doesn't take as long to get up..... but with me, it could be Christmas before I get here again, then again didn't I hear Christmas is cancelled this year?

Well I thought why not. So I did. There is an Emmerdale group in there too!! it seems Emmerdale gets everywhere. Then again my local MP has a profile on there not that he has accepted me as a friend yet..... Well I have met him once or twice. Maybe that doesn't count.

Still back to Emmerdale. I am hopefully going on th FCW next year. So will have to start the count downon the board soon. Maybe I'm going to have to start making lists again I'm getting behind on a lot of things. Then I blame the weather and the TCVS. Well got to blame something.! Can't just be lazyitis then again who knows.

Ali sent me the dates of the footy matches. I don't think I'll be able to make any of them, but am still aiming for Branston or Ackworth or even hopefully both. See how things go. Next week though it's Sweden. I may even manage an episode over there!!

Time gone?

Well where has it gone? I think the last time I wrote here was after the FCW. Tom King had not long been murdered then. But now the audience and some of the characters know who it was, but soaps being soaps how much longer can it be before everyone knows?

With the Summer comes lots of charity events the cast and crew join in with there has already been some football and cricket matches. There are still more to come. Then there was Aberdeen. I will get up there one year it sounds like a fun weekend.

ok not quite the next day but I've been adding pics to the website. so we were all safely at the hotel all 125 of us. One day I'll make a list of names and see how many I do know rather than just faces. About 6.30ish we met downstairs at the bar. The drinks reception started at 7pm, there was also a welcome by Tim who informed us a film crew would be with us some of the weekend, they were getting footage for a new daytime show on ITV1.
Six cast joined us before dinner as they had other comitments Saturday. One of those was supporting Haley in soapstar superstar. Paula turned up whilst dinner was being eaten. She had not long finished filming and was on her way home for a weekends rest. After drinks in the bar it was up to the tower, to sleep and up early for the next day. Mind you after having a kingsize bed to myself, at home the single bed was like lying on the edge of a shelf.
Saturday was a trip to the props room, studios, Homefarm to see Tim Fee shot and a talk by Richard Ellis the interactive man at Emmerdale. He explained the ins and outs of the game.
After which it was up and change for the evening.

FCW

Well what's happening to the year? It's been a week since the FCW and I've not yet got the pictures up. Still theres time yet all the time in the world. Mind you this year I did it different, I went a long way around and picked up Clare, that put just over an hour on the journey, and I'd never been on the M11 before. Mind you the A12 has a bettter serface. It was on the motorway the rain came down, it was as though someone was throwing buckets of water at the windscreen, I'd never drivine in such rain before. After a couple of stops we arrived at SouthernBelle and Falcons. Had a take away delivered and watched Emmerdale, or at least tried to it watch there was a lot of talking, but it was ok we watched it again later thanks to skyplus. One thing shadowed the reunion, that was the Helen, the ferry from the IOW was cancelled so we had to wait until Friday morning to see if she wcould make it. Good news came the following morning, she had missed her coach and lost her money on that but was able to get a train straight through to Leeds, Falcon and SouthernBelle went to pic her up after we had booked into the Weetwood at lunch time. Good.bad news for me, I was put in the tower again. The good news its a bigger room that the singles downstairs, bad news it's three flights up and the easiest way to it is the stairs rather that the lift. ....... I'll add some mnore of the weekend to morrow I think.

Well not long now until the FCW, am I anywhere near ready? Nope!! Well I've worked out my route, I'm picking Claire up on the way so it's a bit different from normal. Horrid country roads rather than nice duel carriageways. Still it's all an experience. Tomorrow I'll make sure my batteries are charged, and maybe hunt for something to wear.
After really having screwed up the Emmerdale game is back on again, I think there were a lot more people playing it that was expected. The ITV forums have leapt from about 20 people online to sometimes over 1000. It could be said then that for every one that goes to the forums for clues and chat on the game there will be 1 or 2 that don't. they server load must be heavy. I've also be told there was a security hole that had to be plugged, that helped cause the problems. I think I was lucky. after hearing of points gone missing and the site not running right I decided not to log in. When I did everything was ok, however those who logged in when the trouble was about seem to be having problems with their clues and missing objects.

I don't know where the last week went. Infact all of December was a blur, still new year new plot.
Though how it's going to hold up for 20 weeks without turning Emmerdale into a detective series I'll don't know.
So far then we have Bob confessed because he thinks Jamie murdered Tom King. Jamie acting shifty and saying he knew Bob didn't do it.
Then there is the game, after last weeks start with falling down servers I think that it could well be working ok now. I do know every time I go to the ITV messeges boards that there are over 400 viewing the who killed Tom King threads. I can't understand why people don't want to have a go at the clues first before shouting for them only an hour after being put up..... a sign of the times and the impatience to work at something?

Christmas Eve

So it's very nearly the end of Tom King. Tomorrow is his demise right after the wedding. Tonight was well and truly set up night if you didn't know the suspects already. It's a pain the Christmas day episode clashes with Dr Who, it'll be tape one and watch the other. Make up my mind time will be tomorrow too. Mind you I've been told that the vicar of Dibley clashes with Doc Martin so another choice. Will there be time enough to watch whats taped? Time is something that runs short...!!!

Or they soon will be, me I'm puzzled. Grayson has been shown a a ladies man all the way though and now we are to believe he is gay. He has given both Louise and Jo the "eye" before now. Also the comment Perdy made when talking of tests about a helpful nurse..... Then all of a sudden this. Very strange. Perhaps he is just addicted to sex full stop. Time will tell I suppose.
I was going to be good tonight and do some more of the map ages but "Housewife49" is on and it's sort of drawn me on. I should really have gone and watched it on the big tv though rather than on the card, too many distractions here. Then again perhaps I should have recorded it to FF throught the adverts, I'm sure they are getting longer and longer. A bit like the bingo hall where people complain the real bingo sessions are getting shorter but the mechanised bingo and fruitmachine "breaks" are getting longer. Makes me glad I don't play.

Laural had a party

At this party all the village turned up, apart from those at work or drinking in the pub. Also those at Ashleys church. Well for a while anyways then they left two by two until only Emily remained.
So Ashley took his prayers to the party. No one listened. and they packed up went home left the vicar to get drunk without even wiping the vomit from Daz off his shoe YUK!!

Right I better start draggin the Christmas stuff out of the cupboards else it'll be newyear before I write any cards.

Must try and remember to watch the omnibus just to see that one scene again if nothing else.

Or at least most is caught up on, folded it as it came out the dryer too so not too much ironing.
Which of course takes me to Kelly and her hate for housework, a lot different from Adele who plays her, she said in an article she liked it.
Don't faint but I actually got around to putting an interview up on the site today, well I up loaded to you tube and embedded to a page. Now I've done one I may just get myself motivated to do some more. I've piles here to sort through.

Monday. New Washing Machine day.

After a week of no machine because the door rubber had finaly give up the ghost, and the drain off pipe sort of all blocked up, I bet there is a sock in there. Also the machine being so old the spares are hard to locate. Anyways I went mad and bought a new one, me being me didn't want to wait for weeks for delivery so the nice man in the shop knocked a tenner off the display one, it had only been out a couple of days and wasn't a single mark on it. Then mad me a cup of coffee whilst two strong men got it ready to put in my car.

After arriving home and getting it unloaded, I didn't realise Wolfboy was as strong as he is, kids have this habit of growing quick!, he and a mate unloaded it it and brought it indoor, Emmerdale had to be taped as it needed installing, by the time I'd done that and put the first wash load in, it was nearly over. So a couple of cheese toasties later, It was watch Emmerdale at 8pm.
Which reminds me the clothes must be dry in there now....... on goes another wash!!

Sunday

Well it was one of those days, the sort when you thinkyou are going to get through a mountain of stuff and end up wondering what happened.

In Emmerdale tonight there was the arrival of the Beckham look alike, me thinks he had Del hit it off rather well. Louise just can't help herself she is after everything that moves in trousers almost!!

Jo tonight reminded me of the old Kelly who his all the papers in the bottom drawer of the filing cabinet when she worked there, one day Paddy will get a receptionist that can work.

Hot Chocolate I think , 6am start in the morning

Well ok theres a few weeks to go yet, but watching the Emmcam when it was working and seeing the decorations up makes it feel like the year is coming to a close.

I had to go out yesterday, so missed the cast singing on TM.

Today was oven cleaning day.... then ofcourse the freezer looked yuk so had to defrost that.
Thats my housework done for the century :)
